The simple life.

This doesn’t mean plain and boring.  This means uncomplicated and straightforward. Effortless living.  Easy.

My message has always been to create a life that is authentic to you.  To get super clear on what you want in life, and then make it happen.  To simplify things so that it’s doable. To simplify what you want so that it’s attainable.

This doesn’t mean to want less; it just means making it easy.  Making it uncomplicated.

I am forever talking about breaking your life down into categories, or the areas that it’s comprised of.  So you’ve likely heard this a thousand times!

But it has to start there.

Break your life down into its categories.  Into the areas that make your life.  It’s your life, so determine what those categories are.

For example, categories could include Family, Home, Spouse, Social Life, Career, Health, Hobbies, Faith, etc.

This is the first step to making it simple; making it easy.

Once you’ve done that, paint a picture of each area. This is where the Clarifying part comes in.  This part is crucial.  You’re getting super clear on what each area looks like, and what it is you want.  By doing this, you are automatically eliminating what you don’t want, just by declaring what it is you do want.  It makes going after what you want so much easier. Straightforward.  Simple.

Now that you know what each area of your life is to look like, pick two or three areas that are way out of alignment with who you are, and devise a plan to create those visions you just made.

Make the plan step-by-step so that it’s uncomplicated and effortless.  You’re simply going to do one step after another.  Make the plan so that it stretches you, but it’s still do-able.  This is the super easy, super simple, Planning part.

Then Do.  Just like that.  Just Do.  This is the Execution part.  Follow your step-by-step plan and make those visions a reality!

Obstacles are going to come up, and life does have a way of shaking things up (right?!?), but as long as you have that easy-to-follow, step-by-step plan, just get back on course and keep going.

Keep those visions you created up front, and keep going.

This is what it means to live a simple life.  Simple: easy, straightforward, uncomplicated, trouble-free, undemanding, effortless, authentic, you.

Quite simply, your best life.  Sounds blissful!

Ok, I know creating your best life isn’t easy, but it is simple.  It’s going to take a lot of work, and the hard part is figuring out what you want for each area.  That’s the hard brain work.

But once you have that, creating a plan to achieve it becomes easier.  You know what the goal is, so it’s just filling in the steps between where you are now, and where you want to be.

And by doing that part, then the next part – following those steps – is just a matter of doing.
